When we think of gatherings with friends and family, it isn’t often most of us think of darts – but Flight Club are changing that. With venues all over the world, people everywhere can experience a night with a dynamic atmosphere, great food, and – of course – a game of darts. But this isn’t the game you may be used to. The creators of Flight Club built the idea around ‘Social Darts’, an exciting concept which involves several different multiplayer games of varying lengths and complexity, all with the help of the responsive screen above the dart board.
The first Flight Club opened up in Shoreditch in 2015, but the dream behind it was born 3 years before. The creators, Steve and Paul, were just having a drink together when they noticed a young crowd playing darts in the pub they were in. The way they played was fast-paced, loud, and exciting, and it caught their attention, sparking an idea. They wanted to create something that brought together the nostalgia and warmth of a pub with the high energy of the darts game that had witnessed, creating an array of happy vibes. Their idea grew with the help of their friends, and now, Flight Clubs continue to pop up everywhere. With sites in the UK, the US, and Australia, the concept has gone global – and this year, there’ll be two more sites opening in Scotland!
It isn’t just Social Darts that sets Flight Club venues apart from everyone else. Each site is decorated with fun at its core, shaping the interior to be reminiscent of a fair. You’ll find bars that look like the inside of a merry-go-round, and at some, you’ll even see a carousel horse. This whimsical aesthetic is paired with a classic pub feel, offering cosiness and nostalgia with vintage wallpapers and dark wooden furniture. As well as a quirky style, Flight Club offers a great selection of pizzas, burgers, and wraps, and you can tie the night off with one (or several!) of their unique cocktails! From the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, to the Rose-ito, there’s something for all tastes.
