The adventure begins! With 8 sites across the UK, Paradise Island Adventure Golf is ready and waiting to provide you with a fun time.
Their first site opened in 2006, in the place where mini golf was born – Scotland! On Paradise Island’s own blog, they’ve shared that the first widely accepted iteration of mini golf was called “the putting game”. This was first played in the 1800s in Scotland, and you can even find the oldest mini golf course at the Ladies Putting Club in St Andrews. This course is still open today, and was brought about because the ladies' husbands decided the women needed a smaller course that would be more “suitable” for them. However, it quickly became known as “The Himalayas”, as the course is so bumpy! Fast forward to now, and mini golf is everywhere, providing fun and a little bit of challenge for everyone. With strong beginnings for the whimsical sport, it’s fitting to find Paradise Island’s first site in Scotland - and it’s come a long way since the putting game!
When Paradise Island first opened, mini golf was a predominantly outside activity, making it very weather-dependent. Now, mini golf is a great way to putt away the dreariest days, brightening things up with quirky décor and even some glow-in-the-dark elements! Whether you’re looking for something to do with the family, are meeting up with a group of friends, or want something a bit different for date night, Paradise Island has you covered come rain or shine. And with our visits, you’ll have plenty of refreshments, too!
