If you’re a fan of East Asian cuisine, Tampopo is the place you need to visit! Their menu recreates dishes from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan, and the Tampopo team are constantly on the look out for new things. And it isn’t just the taste of the food you’ll like!
There’s always a good deal on at Tampopo! For NHS workers, the restaurant offers a 10% discount off the total bill between Monday and Thursday, and students can get 20% off between the same days. But if you’re not an NHS worker or a student, don’t fret – their Workers’ Lunch Menu is available between Monday – Friday, and offers a selection of tasty, quick-to-make dishes that can be eaten in for £10, or taken away for £8! If you want something to help you celebrate or unwind, Tampopo’s happy hour runs every day before 6pm and after 9pm, offering two cocktails for £15!
The menu at Tampopo is extensive, serving from brunch all the way to dinner. They have plenty of veggie options, and also plenty of dishes with heat, if that’s what you’re after! You won’t have had bacon and egg waffles like the ones at Tampopo, where the dish involves miso, smashed avocado, and spicy sambal. If you’re visiting a bit later, you might want to try the Szechuan squid, the Thai sea bream, or perhaps a smaller plate of Korean popcorn chicken! The restaurant shares their name with a Japanese film about a woman’s search for the perfect bowl of noodles, which is something that feels relevant to their ongoing mission of bringing great East Asian food to the people of Manchester and London. Keep an eye out for these visits if you’re ever in these areas!
