Jess started as a Mystery Guest Advisor with us 6 years ago, but has since explored a lot within HGEM! Now with the title ‘Assessment Technical Co-ordinator’, Jess has one of the most varied roles amongst our team. She helps us in Assessment Quality, but is also very involved with the technical side of things. This could be helping when our Mystery Guests get in touch if they can’t get onto their profile, or are having trouble saving a report, or if there’s something missing from a questionnaire. Jess is often on the case, and is also good at identifying problems before they even happen! She’s a great asset to our team, and says her favourite part of the job is problem solving and investigating when a dilemma arises. She enjoys learning new things, and says she has a “treasure chest brain”, keeping things locked away that turn out to come in handy later on!
When it comes to food, Jess used to prefer to eat out because she doesn’t think she’s very good at cooking – but recently has reignited a love for it thanks to meal subscription boxes. Her favourite meal is a really nice steak and chips, done medium rare – but this, she does prefer to have in a restaurant. Outside of work, Jess is a proud, self-professed nerd, enjoying a range of video games from Mass Effect to Stardew Valley, and also playing Dungeons and Dragons – which she plays with some of the other HGEM crew! She is also a green thumb, and takes care of nearly 70 different varieties of houseplant.
Jess’s favourite Mystery Visits to go on are Loungers, which she enjoys for the food, and also the vibe. She finds the staff to be really nice, and the décor is a great touch, too! On the other side of it, her favourite reports to read are for Gaucho, which she likes since the venues seem cool and fancy, and the food always sounds nice. (Unsurprisingly, they have nice steaks!) She hopes to be able to visit Gaucho one day, but for now, it’s enjoyable to read our Mystery Guest’s visits.
